Most wines on our list are made from indigenous Armenian and Georgian grape varieties, from one of Armenia's oldest wineries — Voskevaz, established 1932 — to boutique producers like Van Ardi, Krya and Old Bridge. Look for the karas symbol on wines fermented and aged in traditional clay amphora.
Fermented in karas from vines up to 120 years old, planted at 1,600m. Blackberry, cherry and plum.
Aged 24 months in Armenian oak, then 5 years in bottle. Cherries, coffee, smoke and leather.
